How do we make manufacturing recipes in EasyBuilder Pro?

The reception is more than a saved list of numbers – it is a verified set of settings that must remain traceable and secure after loading.

For the packing machine, the weighing control or the filling line you can prepare several production programs. Each contains permitted settings, such as nominal mass, tolerance, tape speed, and eject delay. EasyBuilder Pro offers functionality for recipes, but it is also necessary to plan the transfer to the controller, value verification, operator rights and the possibility of recovery after error.

Step by step procedure

  1. Define data model. For each recipe, determine the ID, name, version and parameters with data type, measurement unit and limit of permitted values.
  2. Select the storage mode. Depending on the HMI model and the production needs, use the Recipe Database/Recipe Editor or the appropriate method. Separate a valid recipe from the template.
  3. Prepare the screen for selection. The user should see the product name, current parameters and who last edited the recipe. Delete or copy should be protected.
  4. Plan a transfer to PLC. The safest step is the harmonised one: the requirement to load, check the parameter range in PLC, confirm the transmission and clear message of success or error.
  5. Activate blockades and rights. Do not change the reception during the critical part of the cycle unless this is supported. HMI should respect the limitations and the final decision should be taken by the controller.
  6. Add traceability. Record date, operator, old and new versions and batch identifier when required by production.
  7. Test the border cases. Check empty name, wrong unit, missing communication, power failure, interruption of transmission and restart.

Example: Production programme for 250-gramski product

The “Product A” recipe may contain a nominal weight of 250 g, permitted areas e.g. 248-252 g and set ejection delay. These are illustrator values; actual tolerances must be determined by product, device and validation requirements. Once admitted, PLC must confirm that it is an active version.

Difference between prescription and service settings

The operator usually chooses existing recipes. The servicer sets up sensor or transport parameters that are not part of each recipe. Mixing these two areas causes random changes and difficult repeatable results.

Backup and Export

Exporting data only makes sense if you can check the structure and version at the time of renewal. In addition to the recipe archive, save the EasyBuilder Pro project, registry list and PLC configuration. Test the backup, not just create.

Most frequent execution errors

  • A new recipe is shown in HMI, while PLC is still on old values.
  • Parameters have no unit or allowed limit.
  • Nothing prevents a prescription from changing in the middle of a measuring cycle.
  • The operator may accidentally change calibration or service settings.
  • Export and recovery of data has not been tested.

How He Can Help You Svet Črnil?

If you need HMI recipes for a weighing, filling or labelling line, send us a list of parameters and a photo of the screen in the Blackboard Council. We propose data structure, PLC validation and safe switching process between products.
