Are the nozzles E3D V6 and MK8 interchangeable and what should I measure before buying?
V6 and MK8 are not automatically replaceable nozzles. Even if the thread is threaded, the length, sealing surface and point position may vary.
What to check out
- Find the exact model of the willand its composition. Do not assume by the stamp of the printer.
- Compare the thread, the length of the thread, the overall length and the geometry of the force.
- Check the filament diameter and nozzle opening. Also measure the old nozzle if the label is not visible.
- The installation, sealing and any hot tightening should be performed according to the instructions of the specific willend, then reset the distance of the first layer.
A Practical Example
In the case of a classical assembly, the nozzle must be correctly attached to the intended internal part. The seemingly tight nozzle that stops on the block can leave it in the wrong place.
Common error
Do not force the work to thread and do not use a uniform torque for all executions. The wrong length may change the point position relative to the sensor and the liner.
