What's a vector image?

Computer images consist of dots. Millions of dots that form the image on the monitor. And for laser engraving, we need a vector signature. So it's not the dots, it's the lines. Straight lines forming a symbol, a logo or a picture. We need vectors like that to make a quality engraving.
