POM and brass: a sensible combination of materials

POM is a technical plastic known for its rigidity, low moisture absorption and good dimensional stability. The brass threaded part provides a metal surface at the point of the screw joint. An angle of 90° for a more transparent pipe installation

The angle version changes the direction of connection of the 90° pipe. When designing, however, I check the permissible hose bending radius and access to the setting. The hose should not be pulled onto the connector and should not be rubbed at the edges of the machine.

The angle 90° does not mean rotational speed. From the shape, it cannot be concluded that the housing is turning around the thread or that it permits rotation during operation. The rotation of this model is not confirmed. If you need to steer the housing after mounting or moving coupling, check this requirement before selecting.

Adjustment of cylinder flow and speed

By setting the silencer, we change the air flow limit. This can affect cylinder speed, and the actual result also depends on load, pressure, pipes and other valves. The option of setting is the advantage of a regular angular attachment. It is not about measuring flow or automatically maintaining the same speed at all loads.

Festo explains the general use of dc silencers to adjust the speed of pneumatic cylinders. Camozzi points to the required amount of air, walking time and flow diagram in the selection. These are sources of understanding of the operation, not proof of the specifications of our product.

For each circuit, it is necessary to determine whether you need intake air damping, metre-inor drain air, meter-out. For this model the direction of damping and the grant function are not confirmed. Therefore, I do not attribute to it the free movement in the opposite direction or the suitability for a particular installation site without further verification.

1. Before installation, deactivate the air supply, relieve the system and protect moving parts.
2. Check the thread, method of sealing, suitability of the hose and instructions of the supplier for installation.
3. When running the settings controlled, change gradually and observe the entire walk.
4. Repeat the test at the intended load and check the tightness and time of movement.

Easy adjustment means the possibility of gradually adjusting the flow; I do not specify the specific mode of management, the number of revolutions and tightening torques without instructions.

Flow regulator, angular coupling or pressure regulator

When comparing alternatives, I first look at the task. A connection is sufficient to guide the hose. You need a silencer to adjust the flow. To adjust the pressure, select the pressure regulator. A similar form does not necessarily mean the same function.

The comparison shows functions, does not assess unverified competing models. I do not consider any of those elements as a safety shut-off valve solely because of its name. This silencer is not a substitute for air safety insulation either.

Practical example: Pusher setting

Illustration case, not party statement: the pusher moves a lightweight piece too fast on the mounting device. First, I check mechanics and pneumatic circuits. If a flow limitation solution is appropriate and the connections and operating requirements are matched, the adjustable damper shall be the candidate for motion adjustment. Then I check the setting in the actual cycle. The aim is a useful, coordinated movement; the result must be confirmed by the test.
