Andrew's Ghost 2: Controller and Coupling

Illustrating AI story. The video is a locally generated animation with a fictional theatrical episode inspired by Sapramiška. Visiting the Ljubljana City Theatre and the audience are not documentation of the actual event or cooperation with MGL. Technical 3D scenes show the principle; they are not measurement of torque, speed, deformation or product life.

Regulator determines rhythm, coupling transmits torque

PWM regulator changes the proportion of time the engine is powered. By changing the settings we can regulate movement in the useful area, which also depends on the load and friction. The button setting is not calibrated for the RPM measurement and the normal controller does not ensure a constant speed at any load without feedback.

The engine is first started with a set in which it runs reliably, then adjust the motion after the test. Long-term buzzing without rotation is not a slow mode of operation, but a possible delay and warming. Select the appropriate base speed and gear ratio.

What's happening in the cloven-hoofed joint

Two metal halves have an elastic insert, often called rubber, between the hooves. The input shall be pressed when transferring the torque. Its elasticity and damping can reduce some torsion vibrations and shock loads when starting, stopping or changing loads.

This can reduce the load on the gear reduction gear and contribute to less wear. We do not mention the guaranteed length of life: we would need information on the material of the input, the load dynamics, the operating cycle and the specific drive tests. The coupling is also not an overload safety clutch.

In animation the deformation is increased and the graph of the thrusts does not have a scale. The cut-off is schematic and does not show the measured interior of the specific engine. The general principle of pressure loaded elastomer also describes technical interpretation of KTR manufacturer. Their nominal burdens are not passed on to products in this offer.

Rigid connection and missing stake are not the same

The properly designed rigid coupling does not have elastomeric release and requires very good alignment. Sudden torque changes are carried more directly between the engine and the load. This does not mean that the gear will burst at each start; repeated overloads may increase wear or cause damage.

If the elastomer is removed from the ungulate coupling, it remains airy between the hooves. Depending on the structure, metal can be hit against metal or mistransmitted. Such couplings are not used as a replacement for a rigid coupling. Replace the damaged or missing cartridge with an appropriate one.

Correct choice of holes and execution

Both holes are selected according to the actual measured shaft diameters. D30L35 version with holes 10 and 12 mm is not suitable for direct attachment of 6 mm motor shafts. In our case, we use 6 and 8 mm. The codes D30 and L35 describe the nominal external diameter and length, not the permitted torque.

Check also torque, maximum speed, temperature, cartridge material, permissible axle deviation and method of clamping. We don't repair work with improvised washers between the shaft and the hole. The neighbouring versions have their models and are not interchangeable simply because they are similar.

Related products and 3D packages

Version 10 → 12 mm is for a different shaft. For an engine with a 6 mm output shaft and an 8 mm drive axle, select 6 → 8 mm. Related products represent design options; the connection itself does not confirm mechanical or electrical compatibility.

Each of the 14 cloven-hoofed couplings shall have a model adapted to the nominal holes and the size indicated. The ZIP package of couplings costs €0.50 and the ZIP regulator and engine costs €1.00. Prices apply to digital files; physical products are not included. GLB is a separate web preview, ZIP contains STEP, OBJ, MTL, STL, display and description of estimated dimensions.

Photos don't define all the dimensions. The hole diameters and D and L from the titles are nominal data, the geometry of the hooves, inserts, clamps and fixing details are estimated. For couplings without D and L in the title, the outer diameter and length are explicitly assessed. External dimensions are also assessed by the regulator; the model does not contain printed circuit production data. Before making a carrier or tight fit measure your product.
